The Traveling Canvas is a nonprofit organization whose goals are to strengthen art education for our youth in our community and abroad. We are committed to inspiring and encouraging our youth to follow their dreams and express themselves through art. We will give them the tools to create their own masterpieces! The Traveling Canvas collaborates with artists, art suppliers, corporations, educators and philanthropists to achieve these goals.
-
The Traveling Canvas solicits donations and sponsorships to provide art students with the necessary supplies in schools where funding is inadequate.
- The Traveling Canvas will provide supplies and art education to underprivileged children in homeless shelters and orphanages both locally and abroad.
- Advocate the importance of the arts in our schools and communities and encourage more funding in this area.
- Provide young artists with the opportunity to earn income from the sale of their artwork.
This extends the opportunity for that young artist to save for college and further their art studies. It also gives these young artists a sense of accomplishment. These artists would be children that have worked with Tae Tae and are a part of The Traveling Canvas. Our online gallery is a special "Work in Progress".
- Every year, we will host a fundraising event to bring awareness about "The Traveling Canvas...painting the world a new color!"

MISSIONS FOR 2012/2013
My goals in 2012/2013 are to collect donations in order to complete 3 missions. Here are my dreams...my goals...
MISSION 1:
To paint with children living in homeless shelters or staying in hospitals. Here, we will "celebrate the unique voice of each artist!" We would need to raise enough money for supplies and snacks for the children. At the end of our time shared, we will give each child a homemade pillowcase to take with them so that wherever they may go, they will have something special to rest their heads on at night. On the front, it will have our logo and on the back it will remind them to "Dream in Color!" As my sponsorships and donations grow, I would make this mission more frequent...perhaps even monthly!
MISSION 2:
To find companies to sponsor my art magnet program at Coral Reef Senior High for the year 2012 – 2013. The idea is not to replace current funding for the art program, rather enhance it by receiving products that our class could not normally afford. This would allow us to create amazing masterpieces and explore new terrain!
MISSION 3:
To find companies to sponsor the art program in two elementary schools who have virtually no budget for art supplies. This would give small kids the chance to use their imaginary skills during the school day to create wonderful masterpieces!
MISSION 4:
To find school classrooms to participate in the global "Dream in Color" pillowcase program. I am reaching out to the young artists of the world and asking them to send in their special pillowcase(s) with their beautiful artwork! These pillowcases will be given to children in homeless shelters, orphanages and hospitals all over the world. The children can take these hand painted pillowcases with them so that wherever they may go, they will have something made with love to rest their heads on at night. It will remind them to "Dream in Color!".
